End of Year Reflections
Welcome back to one of my favourite episodes of the year – one filled with reflections and goal-setting at the end of the year.
I love this time of year because it’s a natural rest point for thinking about how the previous year has gone, and what we’d like to change going forward.
It’s a great time to think about your goals and progress with your English learning, but also other areas too and consider what you want to get out of the next year, and your life!
Join me in a slightly longer episode as we explore the topics of Successes and Struggles from the previous year, as well as different goals and plans for the next year.
How to Reflect on Your Year
What were your successes this year?
What were your struggles this year?
How to Plan Next Year
Make some plans in each of the following categories:
Bucket List Goals (eg. travel)
What can you subtract from your life to make it better?
Quotes from the Episode
“He sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
— Dalai Lama
Somewhere in the future, your older self is watching you through memories.
Whether it’s with regret or nostalgia depends on what you do now.
What would you tomorrow want you today to do?
Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are.
Life is what happens when we’re busy making other plans.
“Don’t ignore your dreams. Don’t work too much. Say what you think. Cultivate friendships. Be happy.”
— Paul Graham
